How to Use

  1. Use the hand icon (top of the map) and zoom function (bottom right of the map) to position the google map over the desired geography
  2. Use the rectangle icon (top of the map) to drag a rectangle across the desired geography
  3. Press the “Calculate Circuity Factor” to calculate the circuity factor of the geography within the bounds of the rectangular overlay
  4. Press reset to clear the map
  5. Click on Geographies in menu to see circuity factors for different cities and countries
  6. Troubleshoot: If the selected geography has a very sparse road network, this tool will be unable to find random points that are connected by a road network and hence will not be able to calculate the circuity factor. In such a situation, please refresh the page and select a geography that has a denser road network.
